Attorney Mark Tanner Appointed Co-Managing Partner of Feldman Shepherd Philadelphia Personal Injury Law Firm
May 14, 2009

PHILADELPHIA, PA (May 2009) – Feldman Shepherd Wohlgelernter Tanner Weinstock & Dodig has announced that attorney Feldman Shepherd Mark W. Tanner Mark W. Tanner, Esq. has been appointed co-managing partner of the personal injury law firm. Tanner will share this role with Alan M. Feldman, Esq., one of the firm’s founders.

“Mark’s promotion to co-managing partner is well deserved,” said “Alan M. Feldman. “It's an appreciation of the very important role he plays in the administration and management of our law firm. Mark has actually been part of the decision-making team for quite a while, and we're delighted to now formally recognize his significant contributions."

Tanner has been recognized for five consecutive years as one of the Top 100 "Super Lawyers" in Pennsylvania. He has also been named among the Top 10 “Super Lawyers” in PA. Tanner has served on the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association since 1997 and became president in 2007. That same year, he was appointed to the Board of Directors of the non-profit Support Center for Child Advocates. In 2006, Tanner became one of the youngest attorneys ever invited to become a Fellow of the prestigious International Academy of Trial Attorneys (membership is limited to 500 lawyers).

“It is a tremendous honor to join Alan Feldman as a co-managing partner. I look forward to stepping into this new position and working with my colleagues to further our firm’s continued success on behalf of personal injury plaintiffs in Philadelphia,” Tanner said.

In 2008, Tanner obtained an $11 million settlement in Glynn v O’Halloran, a fatal Pennsylvania motor vehicle accident where a drunken driver killed a single mother of three in a head-on collision. After the trial, Tanner made headlines when he pushed for an internal state police investigation into the accident to determine why police had not charged Dean O’Halloran, stepson of a PA State Police corporal, with a traffic violation or tested his blood alcohol level at the scene of the accident. As a result, O’Halloran was later charged and pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Tanner has secured one of the largest medical malpractice verdicts in the courts of Pennsylvania and what is believed to be the largest jury verdict in the state in a bad faith case against an insurance company. His practice includes medical malpractice, disability insurance claims, insurance bad faith, product liability and class action litigation.

After achieving a B.A. in English Literature from the College of the Holy Cross, Tanner received a juris doctor with honors from Temple University School of Law. At Temple, he received awards in the fields of trial and appellate advocacy.
Tanner frequently serves as faculty in programs devoted to the development of trial advocacy skills and continuing legal education both locally and nationally.
