Carol Nelson Shepherd, Esq., a partner with the Philadelphia personal injury law firm of Feldman Shepherd Wohlgelernter Tanner Weinstock & Dodig, will serve as a faculty member for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute continuing legal education (CLE) program, “Trial Tactics, Tips and Techniques,” to be held in Philadelphia on April 17, 2009, at the CLE Conference Center located on the 10th floor of the John Wanamaker Building.
With an impressive faculty roster, this six-credit course will provide practical advice on handling every stage of a trial - from developing a case theme and theory to presenting closing arguments.
A frequent author and lecturer regarding the preparation and trial of medical malpractice and other complex claims, Ms. Shepherd will address jury selection techniques applicable to both straightforward and highly complex civil matters.
Ms. Shepherd has been named among the 2008 Top 50 Women Super Lawyers in Pennsylvania, the Top 100 Super Lawyers in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania and a Pennsylvania Medical Malpractice Super Lawyer. She has served as president of both the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Associations, and has chaired the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Civil Litigation Section, in addition to holding numerous other prominent leadership positions regionally and nationally. Ms. Shepherd’s litigation highlights include securing multimillion dollar settlements and verdicts in obstetrics malpractice, failure to diagnose, birth trauma and birth injuries, and other catastrophic medical malpractice matters.
