Film director Lee Daniels and Jim Murray, former Eagles general manager and cofounder of Philadelphia's first Ronald McDonald House, were honored at the Support Center for Child Advocates' 32d Annual Benefit Reception held April 22 at the Crystal Tea Room. Daniels was recognized for raising awareness of child abuse through two of his films, Precious (based on the novel Push by Sapphire) to be released this fall, and The Woodsman. Katherine Kelton and Mark Tanner cochaired the event for 600 guests. The benefit raised more than $370,000 for the nonprofit, which provides free legal services for abused and neglected children. |
