PHILADELPHIA (December 2009) – Attorney Carolyn M. Chopko, Esq. of the Philadelphia personal injury law firm Feldman Shepherd Wohlgelernter Tanner Weinstock & Dodig has been voted Chair-Elect of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division (YLD). Chopko will serve as Chair-Elect of the 2,300-member YLD from 2010 to 2011, automatically succeeding to Chairperson in 2011. YLD officers are nominated and elected by the group’s members each year.

“I am honored that my peers have selected me to serve as Chair-Elect of the Young Lawyers Division,” said Chopko. “I look forward to furthering the YLD’s objectives, including promoting and preserving the interest of young lawyers, exchanging information and opinions, and supporting the long-term growth of the Philadelphia Bar Association.”

An accomplished trial attorney, Chopko focuses her practice on medical malpractice and product liability. As co-counsel with Daniel S. Weinstock, Chopko assisted in securing a $6 million settlement in a negligence matter arising out of a bicycle accident. She also joined Weinstock as a co-instructor at Temple University Beasley School of Law’s Trial Advocacy Program, addressing issues relating to medical malpractice litigation. Previously a registered nurse, Chopko earned her juris doctor from Villanova University School of Law. In 2007 and 2008, Philadelphia Magazine listed Chopko as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer Rising Star. Chopko is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
