Biography
Mr. Vezina is admitted in Florida, Texas, Louisiana, and Missouri only.
G. Scott Vezina is an experienced trial lawyer who has handled more than 25 jury and 35 non-jury trials, primarily in medical negligence and general liability. He practices in the area of litigation with an emphasis in medical malpractice, products liability and aviation accidents.
After earning his bachelor of science from the Holy Cross College in 1993, Mr. Vezina went on to earn his J.D. from Loyola University School of Law in 1997 and his L.L.M. in 2001. He is admitted to the Florida, Louisiana and Texas bar associations. Mr. Vezina is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of the State of Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana, the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits and the U.S. Tax Court. He is formerly of Ratzan Law Group in Miami, Florida. He previously served as national counsel for CNA Insurance Company in the catastrophic claims unit where he tried cases in California, New York and New Jersey. He also served as an adjunct professor at Regent University School of Law and St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami. From 1997 to 2004, Mr. Vezina was appointed Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Louisiana. He is also a private pilot.
Mr. Vezina has also successfully obtained multi-million dollar verdicts in several cases throughout the U.S. including an $8.8 million verdict on behalf of an individual catastrophically injured due to a misdiagnosed stroke, and a $5.2 million recovery on behalf of a brain injured child. Mr. Vezina regularly handles personal injury matters throughout the U.S.
Mr. Vezina is currently a member of the American Bar Association, Florida Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Texas Bar Association, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and the Florida Justice Association.
Mr. Vezina was selected as an “Up and Comer” Legal Elite by Florida Trend in 2008 and 2009. He was also selected as one of “Florida Rising Stars” in Florida Super Lawyers for 2009, 2010 and 2011.
