Feldman Shepherd Personal Injury Attorney Carol Nelson Shepherd Presents at Pennsylvania Association for Justice Medical Malpractice Seminar

Philadelphia trial lawyer Carol Nelson Shepherd of Feldman Shepherd Wohlgelernter Tanner Weinstock Dodig LLP, recently served as a course planner and faculty member at the Pennsylvania Association for Justice (PAJ) 7th Annual Medical Malpractice Seminar. Shepherd’s medical update presentation addressed medical malpractice concerns associated with emergency department visits, radiology, pathology, office-based medicine and surgical cases. Shepherd covered common complaints, differential diagnoses, diagnostic tools and associated forms of malpractice.

“Litigating medical malpractice matters requires attorneys to be vigilant in remaining current with both medicine and the law,” said Shepherd, a co-founding partner of Feldman Shepherd and past president of PAJ. “I always try to stay abreast of medical developments in order to further my own practice and those of my colleagues by addressing recent issues associated with medical malpractice.”

Shepherd devotes her practice to catastrophic injury claims arising from medical negligence, including obstetric / childbirth matters, delayed diagnosis of cancer, surgical malpractice and many other cases involving substandard medical care. She is a frequent author and lecturer regarding medical malpractice. Her publications include: “Top Ten Missed Diagnoses in “Emergency Room Cases,” “Delay in Diagnosis of Cancer,” “Proving Medical Negligence Cases through the Defendant Doctor’s Deposition,” and “Failure to Diagnose Fetal Distress: A Medical Primer.”

Shepherd has also held prominent leadership positions in the regional and national legal communities, including the Pennsylvania and American Associations for Justice, the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. A member of The National Trial Lawyers, Top 100 Trial Lawyers, she is also a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the Litigation Counsel of America. From 2004 through 2012, Shepherd was named among the Top 50 Women Super Lawyers® in Pennsylvania, Top 100Super Lawyers® in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania, and as a Pennsylvania Medical Malpractice Super Lawyer® by Thomson Reuters, published annually in Philadelphia magazine.
