Benchmark Plaintiff Ranks Feldman Shepherd ‘Highly Recommended’

November 25, 2013

Philadelphia personal injury law firm Feldman Shepherd Wohlgelernter Tanner Weinstock Dodig LLP has been named one of seven “Highly Recommended” Pennsylvania plaintiff litigation firms for 2014 byBenchmark Litigation’s Benchmark Plaintiff guide.

In addition, four of the 12 lawyers recognized as “local litigation stars” in the area of medical malpractice are attorneys at Feldman Shepherd. They are: Carol Nelson Shepherd, Mark W. Tanner, Daniel S. Weinstockand Roberta D. Pichini. Alan M. Feldman was honored as a local litigation star in the area of class action lawsuits.

The only publication to focus exclusively on U.S. litigation, Benchmark Litigation has served as the definitive guide to America’s top plaintiff firms and attorneys since its founding in 2008. Published by Legal Media Group, Benchmark Plaintiff provides personal injury lawyers with a separate editorial platform.

In rating the firm as Highly Recommended, Benchmark Plaintiff cites defense attorneys who praised the acumen and skill of the Feldman Shepherd attorneys they’ve faced in court.

“These guys are outstanding,” one Pennsylvania defense attorney said of Feldman Shepherd. “No list of Pennsylvania plaintiffs is complete without them.”

Feldman Shepherd’s “impressive list of verdicts and settlements offers a snapshot of its acumen in obtaining million-dollar outcomes on behalf of clients,” the publication said, citing a $78.5 million verdict on behalf of a child who suffered severe brain damage as a result of medical negligence.

“Daniel Weinstock was on that case, but frankly they’re all stars,” one lawyer said. Another attorney, referring to Mark W. Tanner, simply said, “I prefer to not be adverse to him.”

Rankings were determined over a six-month research period during which Benchmark Litigation conducted extensive interviews with litigators and their clients and examined the firms’ recent casework. Benchmark Litigation then divided firms in each local market into two categories.  Though all the firms listed were commended by clients and peers, those judged as Highly Recommended were mentioned most frequently and seen as dominating their particular jurisdiction.

Feldman Shepherd Co-Managing Partner Alan M. Feldman said, “We are honored to add recognition fromBenchmark Plaintiff to our list of accolades, which reflect the unwavering dedication and quality of service that our firm provides to clients.”

In 2013, Feldman Shepherd earned several prestigious honors. Twelve of its personal injury attorneys were recognized as 2013 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers and two others as 2013 Pennsylvania Rising Stars, while Co-Managing Partners Feldman and Tanner were ranked among the Top 10 Super Lawyers in Pennsylvania. Eight of the firm’s attorneys were named among The Best Lawyers in America 2014, and the firm itself was named a U.S. News — Best Lawyers® “Best Law Firm” for 2014 — achieving a Philadelphia Tier 1 ranking in the areas of medical malpractice law and personal injury litigation.
