A Gift of Service from Staff to Partners at Feldman Shepherd Law Firm

As a result of the plight of the less fortunate, the staff of the Feldman, Shepherd, Wohlgelernter, Tanner Weinstock & Dodig law firm decided to become involved with the "Adopt a Family" program through the Salvation Army for their 2008 holiday gift to the firm’s partners. “Adopt a Family” assists families in need in the Philadelphia area. The Feldman Shepherd staff adopted a family where a single mother with two daughters was diagnosed with HIV. Her oldest daughter is deaf in one ear and was hospitalized due to asthma. Her youngest daughter has cystic fibrosis. The mother also cares for her younger brother and sister because their mother is on drugs and left her siblings with her. This mother did not have an income for most of 2008 and what little she did have was spent traveling to and from the hospital. The Feldman Shepherd staff wanted to provide this family with a “real holiday” so they donated thousands of dollars worth of department store, restaurant and grocery store gift cards, appliances, personal toiletries, household items, clothing, sporting tickets, clothes, toys and games, electronic equipment, and holiday goodies in keeping with the firm’s philosophy of giving back. Virtually all of the Feldman Shepherd personal injury lawyers provide pro bono legal services to those who are unable to afford to hire an attorney. The Feldman Shepherd law firm is also a proud supporter of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s “Raising the Bar” campaign, which helps to fund the more than 30 public interest law organizations that serve Philadelphia’s neediest citizens. “Raising the Bar” was started by Alan Feldman during his year as Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association in 2006. Both lawyers and administrative staff alike share in the desire to support our community. Here are just a few examples of how our team gives back to the community.
