$6 Million Recovery in Arkansas Cerebral Palsy Case

Attorneys Daniel S. Weinstock and G. Scott Vezina obtained a $6 million recovery* on behalf of a child with severe brain damage that occurred during labor and delivery. The injury occurred during the final hour of a 9 month pregnancy. During labor, the baby’s heart rate began to show evidence he was not receiving enough oxygen.  Unfortunately, the nursing staff failed to recognize the problem, and delayed calling the obstetrician. At birth, the child was diagnosed with severe hypoxic ischemic encelphalopathy, and went on to develop spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy and a serious seizure disorder.

The defendant hospital has insisted none of the names of the parties be disclosed as part of the settlement.
