Mark W. Tanner is an accomplished trial attorney with a wide ranging practice in complex litigation. In addition to securing one of the largest medical malpractice verdicts in the courts of Pennsylvania, Mr. Tanner has also secured what is believed to be the largest jury verdict in Pennsylvania in a bad faith case against an insurance company. Mr. Tanner has been appointed by the Court as liaison counsel in mass tort litigation in both Pennsylvania state and federal courts, including the Orthopedic Bone Screw litigation and the Diet Drug litigation, in which he served as sub-class counsel. His practice interests include medical negligence, disability insurance claims, insurance bad faith, product liability and class action litigation. Mr. Tanner received a B.A. in English Literature from the College of the Holy Cross, and received his law degree with honors from Temple University School of Law. At Temple, he received awards in the fields of trial and appellate advocacy.

Recognized for four consecutive years by Philadelphia Magazine as one of the top 100 "Super Lawyers" in Pennsylvania, in 2006, Mr. Tanner became one of the youngest attorneys ever invited to become a Fellow of the prestigious International Academy of Trial Attorneys (membership is limited to 500 lawyers). He has also been selected for membership in the American Board of Trial Lawyers (ABOTA), and is certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Since 1997, Mr. Tanner has served continuously on the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, becoming their President in July 2007. He often serves as a faculty member in programs devoted to the development of trial advocacy skills, and teaches at Temple University's Academy of Advocacy. In 2007 he was also appointed to the Board of Directors of the non-profit Support Center for Child Advocates.
